Rose Meikatana

French Elegance in Vertical Gardening

"Meicatana" from the iconic French nursery Meilland Star Rose represents the peak of selective breeding by Alain Antoine Meilland. This climber is a hallmark of the company’s philosophy, blending the rugged strength of climbing roses with the sophisticated aesthetics of high-end ornamental varieties. In the professional nursery market, this model is highly regarded for its structural integrity and visual appeal.

Bloom Architecture and Color Dynamics

The visual impact of the "Meicatana" is defined by its complex color palette, which harmonizes peach, pink, yellow, and red hues into every bloom. With flower sizes ranging from 7 to 10 cm and a semi-double form, the roses appear light and ethereal, contrasting beautifully against the robust 200+ cm tall structure of the bush. Its vigorous growth habit makes it a premier choice for vertical accents, such as pergolas, pillars, and exterior walls.

Performance and Maintenance Standards

When selecting varieties from Meilland Star Rose, growers prioritize both aesthetics and long-term viability. The "Meicatana" excels in several critical performance categories:

• Hardiness: Rated for high frost resistance (down to -35°C), ensuring survival and performance in diverse climate conditions.
• Resilience: The hybrid shows high resistance to common fungal and bacterial diseases, reducing the need for intensive chemical management.
• Blooming Cycle: Characterized by repetitive waves of blooms, the plant maintains its ornamental value throughout the entire vegetative season.

An exceptional trait of the "Meicatana" is its dual-purpose nature. While serving as a structural element for garden landscaping, the blooms are high-quality enough for cut flower production. This versatility makes it a standout choice for both private collectors and commercial growers looking for a reliable, low-maintenance variety that does not sacrifice beauty.
