The rose Alexandra, also known as Princess Alexandra of Kent, is an outstanding variety of English rose bred by David Austin in 2002. This variety is characterized by large, full-petaled blooms up to 12 cm in diameter, featuring a rich pink hue with lighter petals at the center. The buds have a cup-shaped form and retain their neat appearance even when partially open. The rose blooms abundantly and repeatedly, from late spring until the onset of frost, making it ideal for long-term garden decoration. The bushes of rose Alexandra reach heights of 90 to 110 cm and widths of approximately 75–90 cm, forming compact and tidy plants. The rose exhibits high resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew and black spot, and also tolerates excessive moisture, rain, and frost, allowing it to be grown in various climatic conditions, including regions of Ukraine. The variety’s frost resistance corresponds to zone 6, ensuring plant survival during cold seasons. The fragrance of the rose Alexandra is elegant and fresh, with characteristic tea rose notes that gradually transition into citrus tones with subtle blackcurrant accents. Due to its beauty, resilience, and prolonged blooming, this variety is widely used in group plantings and is a popular choice among gardeners aiming to create striking and fragrant floral compositions.
