Rose MEIKOFUM

Engineering base of Meilland Star Rose selection

The French breeding school, represented by Meilland Star Rose, focused on vegetative predictability, which is embodied in the 'Meikofum' variety. Technically, this is a shrub rose with strictly defined habit parameters: the bush height varies between 80-120 cm, making it an optimal solution for arranging mid-level tiers in landscape design.

Agrotechnical indicators

The key advantage of the hybrid is its resistance to pathogens. High resistance to powdery mildew is achieved through the dense structure of the leaf blade and genetically ingrained immunity, which reduces the need for regular fungicide treatments.

• Flowering parameters: The bud size in the full bloom phase is 7-10 cm. The peduncles have sufficient strength to support the weight of the inflorescence without deformation under wind loads.
• Phenology: The flowering period covers the entire summer season. This is ensured by a high rate of shoot regeneration, allowing the rose to constantly form new buds.
• Operation: Use as an accent element in flower beds is justified by a compact root system and a predictable bush shape that does not require complex pruning to maintain an aesthetic appearance.

The collaboration between Meilland Star Rose, Hans Jurgen Evers, and Japanese experts from Keisei Rose Nurseries has resulted in a product that combines European design classics with high adaptability to various climatic conditions, as confirmed by patents held by the consortium of manufacturers.
