Rose First Bloom

Targeting the Professional Cut Flower Market

The Ukrainian-bred 'Pervistok' rose is a specialized choice for commercial growers focusing on high-quality cut flowers. Developed by the Kyiv National University, this cultivar is noted for its impressive vigor, reaching heights of over 200 cm. These dimensions classify it as a premium variety for indoor or protected ground cultivation, requiring precise horticultural management.

Operational Use and Cultivation Strategy

• Trellis Systems and Support: Given its height exceeding two meters, robust support structures are non-negotiable. Implementing a systematic trellising approach early in the season is essential to ensure vertical growth and protect the stems from lodging.
• Standardizing the Cut: 'Pervistok' is engineered for the floristry industry. Its key agronomic advantage is the production of long, straight stems that meet market requirements for high-end bouquet assembly.
• Value-Added Scent: Unlike many commercially optimized varieties that lack fragrance, 'Pervistok' features a strong, distinct aroma. This characteristic provides a competitive edge in local markets, appealing to customers seeking both visual beauty and natural sensory appeal.

Successful management of this hybrid relies on intensive nutrition schedules. Growers should prioritize nitrogen applications during the early vegetative stage to support its height, transitioning to phosphorus and potassium-rich blends as the plant reaches the budding phase. Proper ventilation and pruning are critical to managing the canopy of such a tall cultivar, ensuring that sunlight reaches the lower tiers and promoting even floral development across the entire plantation.
