Description PG 12
PG 12 rootstock is a clonal pear (Pyrus L.) rootstock, intermediate in height and highly compatible with various pear varieties. Trees grafted onto this rootstock do not require support due to their low growth vigor, yet they maintain high root system hardiness, tolerating temperatures down to -14 °C.

PG 12 is easily propagated via both green and hardwood cuttings. Fruit-bearing begins in grafted trees as early as the 4th year after planting, with an average yield ranging from 250 to 300 kg/hectare. The rootstock is resistant to common diseases such as scab and powdery mildew.

One of the key advantages of PG 12 is its ability to reduce the growth vigor of grafted cultivars by approximately 30%, enabling the creation of compact, dwarf trees ideal for small plots. Compatible cultivars include Augustovskaya Rosa, Allegro, and Pamyat Yakovleva. The rootstock is widely used in Far Eastern horticulture, ensuring stable growth and productivity under moderate climatic conditions.
