Rice VOLGOGRADSKY

Resilient Rice Production in Challenging Climates

The «Volgogradsky» rice variety, developed by the Kostyakov Federal Scientific Center for Land Reclamation and Irrigation, stands as a prime example of adaptive breeding. Designed to thrive in regions characterized by short growing seasons and water scarcity, this variety addresses the primary needs of modern agricultural producers looking for robust alternatives to conventional hybrids.

Agronomic Profile and Efficiency

The defining trait of «Volgogradsky» is its low water consumption profile combined with high yield potential. Depending on cultivation intensity and local soil conditions, the variety demonstrates a yield ranging from 5 to 8 tons per hectare. Its inherent cold resistance allows the crop to withstand significant temperature drops during critical growth stages, ensuring stability where other varieties might fail.

• Pest Resistance: Genetic resistance to prevalent regional pests significantly reduces the dependency on chemical protection, making it an ideal candidate for organic or low-residue farming practices.
• End-Use Versatility: The grain quality meets stringent industry requirements, making it a preferred choice for industrial processing and the production of baby food.

Choosing «Volgogradsky» allows farms to mitigate production risks effectively. It performs exceptionally well in fields with limited irrigation capacities while consistently delivering high-quality grain that aligns with the strict standards of the food industry.
