Rice Olymp

Field Performance of the Olimp Rice Variety

For an agronomist, selecting the 'Olimp' variety means choosing predictability and operational efficiency. Developed by the Federal Research Center for Rice under the guidance of A.G. and G.L. Zelensky, this variety is engineered to minimize complexity in daily field management while maintaining high yield standards.

Operational Handling and Maintenance

During the growing season, Olimp displays excellent uniformity, which is a major advantage when scheduling mechanized operations. From an operator's perspective, the variety’s lodging resistance is a significant benefit: it allows for optimal harvesting speeds and minimizes grain loss at the header. The crop is responsive to standard fertilization protocols, requiring only basic monitoring of plant density to ensure proper canopy airflow.

Processing and Logistics

The variety is specifically intended for high-quality rice milling. During initial processing, Olimp shows a high yield of whole kernel, which directly improves the profitability of milling operations. The grain does not suffer from excessive fragility, allowing drying facilities to operate within standard temperature ranges without the need for specialized settings. Furthermore, its resistance to major pathogens reduces the necessity for heavy fungicide applications, directly lowering input costs per hectare.

• High seedling vigor ensures a rapid and uniform crop establishment.
• Reduced requirement for aggressive chemical protection saves time and operational fuel.
• Excellent milling characteristics simplify the sales process to downstream processors.
