Symphony

Symphony variety strawberry is a late-ripening and high-yielding garden strawberry variety developed in the Netherlands. This variety has an extended fruiting period that falls in June-July and begins to ripen a few days later than the popular Elsanta strawberry. Plants have a compact habit, ranging from 10 to 30 cm in height and 20-30 cm in width, with light green and relatively stiff leaves. The planting material is two-year-old, which ensures significantly higher yields already in the first year after planting — up to 4-5 times more compared to standard strawberry plants. The Symphony variety produces large, medium-sized berries, conical and broadly conical in shape, with shiny bright red skin and intensely red flesh. They have an excellent dessert flavor and fantastic aroma. The calyx detaches easily, facilitating harvest. The berries have high density and good transportability, making this variety attractive both for personal cultivation and for commercial production and trade. The strawberries can be stored at room temperature for up to three days and are suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for making jams, desserts, compotes, and jelly. Symphony variety exhibits high resistance to fungal diseases, particularly gray mold and verticillium, as well as high frost tolerance. These qualities make it more reliable compared to the Elsanta variety. Under certain conditions, the plant may produce a large number of leaves, which may occasionally complicate harvest; however, harvest can be delayed by covering the seedlings with straw in early spring. Due to its characteristics and qualities, Symphony strawberry is an excellent choice for gardeners and producers aiming to obtain a stable and high-quality late-season harvest.
