Polaris

Polaris — a mid-early hybrid of winter rape, intended for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones. This variety is distinguished by high adaptability to stress factors and resistance to various diseases, including phomopsis, black leg, peronosporosis, sclerotinia, alternaria, and bacterial diseases. Plant height is 170–180 cm, and the vegetative period lasts approximately 305–310 days. Polaris exhibits high winter hardiness and resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought, ensuring stable and high yields.

The hybrid is resistant to the herbicide Roundup, allowing effective weed control without harm to the crop. The recommended glyphosate application rate may reach 4 L/ha. The recommended seeding rate is 0.5–0.7 million seeds per hectare. Average yields over test years vary from 42 to 57 c/ha, with potential up to 76 c/ha, making Polaris one of the high-yielding rape varieties.

Oil obtained from Polaris seeds is characterized by high quality with low erucic acid (0–0.1%) and glucosinolate (0.4–0.5%) content, meeting requirements for low-erucic varieties. Oil content in seeds reaches 46.9–47.9%, and protein content is approximately 24.2%. The 1000-seed mass is 5–6 grams. All these characteristics make Polaris an attractive choice for farmers aiming to obtain a high-quality, high-yield product.
