Why «Teflon» is the Choice for Winter Sowing

Working with the winter rapeseed variety from the German breeder Deutsche Saatveredelung has shown me that «Teflon» is a hybrid you can rely on even in unpredictable winter conditions. As a grower, I value its predictability: with standard agronomic practices, it consistently delivers a yield potential in the range of 45–65 centners/ha, which is a solid performance for our fields.

Development Characteristics and Yield

What stands out during field inspections is the intense branching of the plant. This high branching ability allows the hybrid to form a robust structure capable of supporting a high yield. An oil content of 46–49% makes the final product highly competitive at grain elevators, while the low erucic acid content meets the strictest quality standards for oil processing.

During the growing season, «Teflon» does not require overly complicated management. It is a reliable «workhorse» that, with proper herbicide and fungicide protection, delivers the full genetic potential inherent in Deutsche Saatveredelung’s breeding. The hybrid adapts well to autumn development, roots quickly, and recovers confidently after winter, which is critical for ensuring uniform germination and even ripening.
