PODMOSKOVNY

PODMOSKOVNY is a spring rapeseed (Brassica napus var. napus) type "00" variety, characterized by the absence of erucic acid and low glucosinolate content, making it particularly valuable for the production of edible oil and feeds. The plant is of medium height with uniform flowering and ripening, has a green leaf blade without anthocyanin pigmentation and a medium waxy coating. Leaves are of medium length and width with moderate edge serration, while yellow petals are also of medium size. Pods are without a beak and of medium length, which facilitates harvest collection. The variety shows a strong tendency to form inflorescences in the year of sowing when sown in late summer.

PODMOSKOVNY is recommended for growing for seeds and green fodder in various regions, including Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatskaya and Middle Volga. The vegetative period is 98-111 days, which classifies it as a medium-ripening variety. Seed yield from state trials reaches 8.8 centners/hectare in the Central region, 15.2 centners/hectare in Bryansk region and 11.1 centners/hectare in the Middle Volga region, corresponding to or exceeding the standards. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 3.6 to 4.4 grams. The variety is resistant to shattering and lodging, and also possesses good resistance to major diseases and pests.

Fat content in seeds is 45-48%, and protein is 22-24%. PODMOSKOVNY rapeseed oil belongs to the group of best quality edible fats, containing about 80% physiologically valuable oleic and linoleic fatty acids. Low glucosinolate content allows using oil cakes and meal in animal and poultry diets at increased rates, making this variety universal and economically advantageous for agricultural production.
