The Eланская soft winter wheat variety is a medium-early and medium-height type with lodging resistance. The plant is characterized by a semi-upright culm and a white pyramid-shaped ear of medium length and density. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 36 to 44 grams, indicating good seed quality. The maturation period ranges from 225 to 309 days, allowing effective harvesting planning depending on regional climatic conditions.

Elанская exhibits high winter hardiness, exceeding the average level, as well as resistance to powdery mildew and common bunt. Additionally, the variety has moderate resistance to brown rust. Drought resistance is at the level of the Don 93 variety, making it suitable for cultivation in arid climates. Average yield in the Lower Volga region reaches 20.1 centners per hectare, and under high agronomic conditions can reach 41.3 centners per hectare.

The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Right-Bank zone of Volgograd region on various soil types, including ordinary and southern chernozems, as well as light chestnut and brown soils. Due to the high content of gluten and protein in the grain, the product of the Eланская variety is intended for bread-making, confirming its good baking qualities. The creation of this variety was the result of long-term breeding in complex climatic and soil conditions, which ensured its resistance to extreme weather factors and diseases.
