KWS Lazuli

Winter wheat variety KWS Lazuli is a mid-early maturing variety with high drought resistance and resistance to lodging. Plant height reaches about 70 cm, making it a low-growing variety. The ear has a stiff form, and the thousand-grain weight is high, contributing to high-quality grain. The variety is characterized by stable yields, which reached 102.7 c/ha in 2022, with potential yields reaching 7-10 t/ha. Grain quality belongs to class 2-3, confirming its high nutritional and technological properties. The KWS Lazuli variety was developed in France and Italy as part of an EU breeding program and adapted for cultivation in southern regions of Ukraine. It features early maturation, approximately 5 days earlier than German varieties, allowing effective use of agronomic periods. Seeding rate is 350-470 seeds per square meter, ensuring optimal plant development and high yield. Key advantages of the variety include high resistance to major wheat diseases such as powdery mildew, brown leaf rust, pyrenophorosis, septoria, yellow rust, and Fusarium ear blight. Winter hardiness is rated 5 points, and resistance to lodging — 7 points. High protein content in the grain (about 6%) makes this variety attractive for producing high-quality flour. Due to its characteristics and adaptation to climatic conditions, KWS Lazuli is an optimal choice for farmers aiming to achieve stable and high yields under challenging dry climate conditions.
