The Driada 1 variety of winter soft wheat is a versatile and high-yielding variety, suitable for cultivation under rain-fed conditions with various preceding crops, as well as under irrigation. It belongs to the steppe ecological group and the erythrospermum variety. Driada 1 is characterized by a short stem, early maturity, high winter hardiness and frost resistance, as well as drought and heat tolerance. The seeding rate is 4.5–5.0 million viable seeds per hectare.
The yield potential of this variety is high and exceeds 100 centners per hectare, with a guaranteed yield increase of about 12.2 centners per hectare. The average yield in the Steppe region reaches 65.9 centners per hectare, with a maximum yield of 104.2 centners per hectare. When grown using water-saving technology, yield remains high, confirming the variety's adaptability to various agronomic conditions. The variety demonstrates high resistance to lodging, grain shattering, root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew.
The bread-making qualities of Driada 1 wheat are rated as good to excellent. The grain contains approximately 14.4% protein and 30.5% gluten, ensuring high dough quality and loaf volume up to 1120 ml. Due to these characteristics, this variety belongs to the strong wheat types and is suitable for producing high-quality bakery products.
