Don Anniversary is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) characterized by a medium-early maturity period and medium stature. Plants reach heights between 88 and 102 cm, featuring low-stem density and resistance to lodging. The ear is cylindrical, of medium length and density, with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 37 to 46 grams. The variety was created through intraspecific complex stepwise hybridization and recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions of Russia, where it demonstrates high adaptability and yield stability.
Don Anniversary exhibits high winter hardiness and resistance to major wheat diseases, including brown and yellow rust, powdery bunt, as well as medium resistance to powdery mildew and septoria. Additionally, the variety shows high drought and frost tolerance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Yield reaches up to 11.51 tons per hectare under optimal conditions, exceeding the indicators of the standard Ermak variety.
The grain of the Don Anniversary variety boasts excellent milling and baking qualities, making it in demand in the food industry and for flour production. The recommended sowing rate is 4.5-5.5 million viable seeds per hectare, with sowing times optimized for the specified growing regions. The variety is suitable for cultivation on high and medium agrobackgrounds, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
