Sunflower SY Kupava

SY Kupava, a high-yielding, mid-season, intensive-type sunflower hybrid from Syngenta, is designed for cultivation in the Central and Northern Steppe, Forest Steppe, and Polissia regions of Ukraine. It features high early growth vigor and stable yield, making it one of the leaders in resistance in the mentioned regions. SY Kupava is recommended for intensive cultivation techniques and demonstrates high responsiveness to improved agronomic practices.

One of the key features of this hybrid is its high resistance to downy mildew, including 7 strains, as well as tolerance to major sunflower diseases such as phomopsis, phomopsis, and root sclerotinia. Additionally, SY Kupava exhibits good drought tolerance and moderate lodging resistance, ensuring stable yields even under adverse climatic conditions. The hybrid’s vegetative period ranges from 106 to 115 days, and oil content in seeds varies from 48% to 53%, making it attractive for the oilseed industry.

Seeding rates depend on soil moisture levels: 40,000–45,000 plants per hectare for low moisture, 50,000–55,000 for moderate moisture, and 50,000–60,000 per hectare for sufficient moisture.
