Developed by the FRC Kazan Scientific Center of the RAS, the Kayo variety is a selection solution for producers focused on processing diversification. Phytopathological Resistance as a Cost-Reduction Tool

A critical node in the efficiency of any potato production system is pathogen defense. The genetic code of Kayo contains built-in resistance mechanisms against key economically significant diseases:

• Potato Wart (Synchytrium endobioticum): complete immune protection, eliminating the risk of yield loss in contaminated soils.
• Common Scab (Streptomyces scabies): high field resistance maintains tuber marketability even under unfavorable soil hydrothermal conditions.
• Viral Complex: selection is focused on reducing susceptibility to mosaic agents and other viral infections, which is critical for extending the seed material reproduction period without degeneration.
