ALKA

The potato variety Alka is a medium-early table variety developed by Siberian scientists and included in the State Register of Selection Achievements of the Russian Federation for the West Siberian region. The plant is characterized by high growth, intermediate type and semi-erect form. Leaves are medium-sized, open and green, while the flower is small, which is typical for this variety.

The main advantage of the Alka variety is its high resistance to a wide range of diseases, including potato cancer, alternaria, fusarium wilt, late blight, common scab, rhizoctonia and viral infections. However, the variety is susceptible to golden potato nematode, which should be considered when cultivating. The development of this variety took 19 years, confirming the thoroughness of the breeding work and the quality of the result.
