BABR

Potato variety Babr is a medium-early table variety developed through hybridization of the Dutch variety Sante and the domestic Pushkinets. The plant is of medium height, intermediate type with semi-upright form. Leaves are medium-sized, green, and the flower is large and white. Tubers have round-oval shape with yellow skin and flesh, and the marketable tuber mass ranges from 94 to 176 grams.

Babr variety is characterized by good taste and high yield. Tubers are smooth and uniform, making them attractive to consumers. Storage quality of tubers during winter storage remains at a good level, ensuring prolonged use without quality loss. Additionally, the variety shows resistance to golden potato nematode and moderate resistance to phytophthora, significantly reducing the risk of yield losses due to diseases.

The development of this variety took more than ten years and was conducted by scientists of Irkutsk State Agrarian University. The new variety successfully passed state trials and is recommended for cultivation in the Eastern Siberian region. Due to its combination of high yield, excellent taste, and disease resistance, potato Babr is a promising choice for table consumption and commercial cultivation.
