Introduced by E.P. Finaev at the Kuybyshev Experimental Orchard for fruit cultivation through crossing the local (yellow) Renklod variety with Renklod Lenya. Registered in the State Register in 1959 for the Northwestern and Volga regions.
Large, fast-growing tree. Open, moderately dense crown. Bears fruit primarily on bouquet branches — on 2-3-year-old branches. Bark on the trunk and main branches is smooth, greenish-brown. Shoots are thick, straight, light-purple, moderately hairy. Few small, medium-sized, white stipules. Leaves are large, broad, oval, slightly pointed, dark green on the upper surface, wrinkled, shiny on the upper side, weakly hairy on the lower side. Leaf blade is flat, base rounded, strongly hairy. Leaf margin is doubly fine-toothed. Petiole is medium-sized, thick, weakly pigmented. Stipules are medium-sized, weakly lobed, early falling. Stipules are medium-sized, two, yellow-brown, round. Inflorescence — double and triple flowers. Flowers are medium-sized, white.
Fruits are large, one-dimensional, average weight 26.7 g. Shape is round, slightly indented on sides. Fruit apex is rounded. Fruit base has a depression, medium-sized, medium-wide. Fruit sutures are fine, barely noticeable. Pedicel is medium in length and thickness; easy detachment from the branch; attachment to the stone is not strong. Fruit color is green-yellow, uniform across the surface. Skin dots: medium number, white, clearly visible. Skin is medium, bare, with strong waxy coating, easily peels off. Flesh is yellow-green, medium, juicy. Juice is colorless. Flavor is sour-sweet. Stone separates easily from flesh, medium-sized, oval, blunt, with weak grooves, almost smooth. Fresh fruit rating 4.2 points. Appearance is attractive — 4.5 points. Fruits contain dry matter — 19.6%, sugars — 10.0%, acids — 1.3%, ascorbic acid — 17.56 mg/100g. Primary use is universal.
Flowering occurs from May 14 to 24. Fruit ripening is medium. Harvesting period is August 25 — September 5. Consumption period is August 25 — September 10. Transportability is good. Trees begin fruiting at 4-5 years. Yield in 6-7 years — 3-8 kg per tree; in 8-12 years — 15 to 30 kg. Annual fruiting. Fruit attachment to tree is good.
The variety is practically self-fertile. Best pollinators: Renklod Lenya, Skorospelka Krasnaya, Vengerka Oktyabrskaya, Ternosliwa Kuybyshevskaya.
Trees have medium winter hardiness. In severe winters, damage in the form of bark scorching, branch and flower bud freezing was observed. The variety withstood harsh winters in 1955/56, 1968/69, 1978/79, and 1986/87. In the harsh winter of 1955/56, with January minimum -34°С and February -37°С, it had an average freezing damage rating of 0.5.
Drought resistance is medium. Not damaged by diseases. Gum exudation occurs due to frost damage. Damaged by cherry sawfly, plum fruit worm, and almond seed weevil — 0.8-1.0%.
Propagated by grafting onto seedling rootstocks of Skorospelka Krasnaya, Ternosliwa Kuybyshevskaya, Vengerka Oktyabrskaya. Best locations — flat or gentle slopes, well-protected and sunny areas. Grows well on all types of chernozem soils, especially medium- and light loamy, moderately moist. Tolerates pruning well. Can be shaped using single-tier or sparse-tier systems, in half-stem or low-stem form. Periodic rejuvenating pruning of fruiting branches is required.
Advantages of the variety: high annual yield, not lower than Skorospelka Krasnaya, large, tasty fruits; good winter hardiness of trees.
Disadvantages of the variety: susceptibility to bark scorching in harsher winters.
