Medium-maturing, thick-walled sweet pepper variety (gogochar type) with high commercial and flavor qualities
Sultan — A medium-maturing variety, from germination to technical maturity 130-135 days, to biological maturity — 158-165 days. The plant is medium-height, 45-60 cm tall, densely leafed. The Sultan pepper fruits are of the ratunda (gogochar) type — flat-round shape, smooth, slightly ribbed, large, weighing 100-150 g, light green in technical maturity and dark red in biological maturity, wall thickness 8-10 mm. Flavor qualities — excellent. Grown through seedlings. The most common method of seedling cultivation is sowing seeds in trays. The age of seedlings depends on the intended use of the product. For processing purposes, 25-45-day-old seedlings are planted. The planting scheme largely depends on the irrigation method (60 X 20 cm for sprinkler irrigation and 90+50 X 20 cm for drip irrigation). Yield — 40-70 t/ha. Sultan pepper fruits are used both for fresh consumption and for canning. The Sultan variety is resistant to verticillium wilt.
