Tomato JAVORONOK F1

Engineering approach to tomato breeding

The «ZHAVORONOK F1» hybrid by Nasko is a result of targeted breeding focused on balancing early yield maturity with pathogen resistance. Its semi-determinate growth habit requires proper plant management, allowing for effective control of light exposure and ventilation in both greenhouse and open-field conditions.

Phytopathological resistance as a yield foundation

The key advantage of this hybrid is its genetically programmed defense against two of the most aggressive nightshade diseases:

• Alternaria: the hybrid effectively suppresses the development of fungal spots, which is critical in high-humidity regions.
• Bacterial Spot: resistance reduces the risk of loss in fruit marketability and allows for a decrease in the number of fungicide applications.

Fruit morphology and commercial quality

With a maturity period of up to 90 days, «ZHAVORONOK F1» falls into the early-maturing segment. The technical specifications of the fruit are optimized for commercial sales:

• Weight: the 100–150 gram range provides the ideal size for packaging.
• Fruit structure: the round shape with 3–4 seed chambers ensures flesh density and high transportability.
• Color: deep red without any green shoulder, achieved through stable lycopene accumulation.

In practice, utilizing «ZHAVORONOK F1» allows farmers to achieve predictable results due to the reliability of the semi-determinate growth type and stable yields within the Ukrainian climate.
