Jigit

Jigit pepper is an early-maturing and mid-season hybrid with a unique exotic dark-purple fruit color at the technical ripening stage, which turns into a shiny bright-red skin upon full ripening. The fruits have a characteristic horn-like shape, 15–17 cm in length, weighing 50–80 grams, with thin skin and slight wrinkling at the base. Despite its shape, typical of hot varieties, Jigit has a sweet and pleasant taste, making it versatile for fresh consumption and preservation.

The plant is tall, reaching up to 2 meters in a greenhouse, with leafy stems and medium internode length. The variety is well-adapted to various climatic conditions, resistant to cool weather and low temperatures, allowing it to be grown both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. For optimal growth, it is recommended to prune the plant by removing side shoots and leaves up to the first fork, and to use trellising to support tall bushes.

Seedlings are sown in late February or early March, with transplanting occurring in the cotyledon or first true leaf stage. Seedlings are transplanted at the end of May or after 60–70 days of growth, following a 50x35 cm spacing. The variety has good yield potential, reaching 2–3 kg per square meter, and is suitable for both greenhouse and open-ground cultivation, making it an attractive choice for gardeners and farmers.
