Hot pepper Thunder F1 is a medium-maturing hybrid from the Dutch selection company Rijk Zwaan, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouse covers. The plant is determinate, strong, and vigorous, characterized by high yield and stable fruit set even under adverse conditions, including insufficient lighting. The hybrid is resistant to mosaic virus, potato virus, black bacterial spot, and tobamovirus Tm:0-2, ensuring reliability and quality of the harvest.
Thunder F1 fruits have an elongated-conical shape with 2-3 chambers, measuring 22-25 cm in length and 2-3 cm in diameter, with a wall thickness of 3-5 mm. Fruit weight ranges from 120-160 grams. At the technical maturity stage, they are green, and at biological maturity, they turn bright red. The flesh is intensely hot and bitter with a pronounced aroma and high dry matter content. The pepper is well-suited for transportation and retains its flavor for a long time during storage.
The Thunder F1 hybrid is suitable for various uses: canning, freezing, drying, cooking, and grilling. For cultivation, seedlings are recommended; seeds should be sown to a depth of about 1 cm at an optimal temperature of +25–27 °C, and after emergence, the temperature should be maintained at +20–21 °C. Main care includes regular watering, weed control, and fertilization. Recommended planting density — 3 plants per 1 m² in covered ground and 30-35 thousand plants per hectare in open ground.
