Othello Pepper — an early hybrid of sweet pepper, maturing in approximately 106 days. It is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic or glass greenhouses. The plant is strong-growing, semi-branching, and compact, reaching a height of 70-80 cm. Fruits are positioned on the plant in mixed orientation, are large in size, and have a cube-shaped form with a smooth surface. In technical maturity, fruits are colored bright purple (violet), and in biological maturity, they take on a brown hue. Fruit weight varies from 88 to 170 grams, and wall thickness is 5-7 mm. Othello is distinguished by high flavor qualities: fruits are aromatic, with a delicate dessert-like taste and juicy flesh. The pepper is four-chambered, which contributes to its universal application in cooking. The hybrid is resistant to diseases typical for pepper crops, simplifying care and increasing yield. Average yield is about 4 kg per square meter, and under optimal conditions, it can reach up to 9 kg. Cultivation technology includes sowing seedlings in late February — early March with transplanting in the cotyledon stage. Planting in the ground is conducted at the end of May, following a planting scheme of 40x60 cm. For plant formation, it is recommended to remove all lateral branches and leaves up to the first fork, which promotes uniform fruiting and improves fruit quality.
