Irene

The sweet pepper hybrid Irene F1, developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden, is a high-yielding and mid-season variety with a vegetative period of about 65 days after transplanting. This hybrid is characterized by stable fruiting and is suitable for cultivation both in open and protected ground. The plants are compact, well-branched, with a strong root system, which provides reliable protection for fruits against sunburn and contributes to high yield. The hybrid easily adapts to various climatic conditions and agronomic practices, making it universal for all soil-climatic zones of Ukraine.

The fruits of Irene pepper have a short-cuboid shape, large size — about 8–9 cm in diameter and 10–11 cm in length, with a weight of 200–220 grams. They are four-chambered, dense, fleshy, and thick-walled, ensuring good transportability and long-term storage without loss of quality. In technical maturity, the fruits have a light green or white color with a greenish tint, while in biological maturity they acquire a rich red hue. The pepper has a pleasant taste and aroma, making it popular for fresh market sales, culinary use, and canning.
