Peony Chornomor

A Gem of Ukrainian Breeding

The 'Chornomors' peony is a distinguished product of the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. Unlike imported varieties that often struggle to adapt to local climates, this Ukrainian-bred cultivar is specifically optimized for regional soil and weather conditions, offering gardeners greater reliability and lower maintenance requirements.

Key Characteristics and Aesthetics

The standout feature of 'Chornomors' is its lush, double-flowered bloom that maintains its structure even during heavy rain. Standing at 70 cm tall, this peony forms a compact, sturdy bush. Unlike many taller varieties that require elaborate staking systems to prevent lodging, 'Chornomors' keeps its form naturally, making it a low-effort addition to any landscape.

• Flower Type: Double (dense and decorative).
• Height: 70 cm (perfect for mid-border planting).
• Light Requirement: Thrives in full sun; essential for maximum bloom potential.
• Usage: Formal flower beds, garden focal points, and mass landscape plantings.

Why Choose 'Chornomors'?

This variety is the optimal choice for gardeners seeking a high-quality, long-lasting perennial that doesn't demand constant professional intervention. Its primary strength lies in the balance between compact growth and the visual impact of its flowers. While it is highly resilient, it is strictly a sun-loving plant; it will not thrive in deep shade. Choosing 'Chornomors' means choosing a reliable, locally acclimated cultivar that brings both heritage and aesthetic value to your garden space.
