Tulip Bonanza

Stability and Late-Blooming Aesthetics

Planning seasonal plantings with 'Bonanza' requires an understanding of its specific nature as a late-blooming double tulip. Operators working with this hybrid highlight its predictability: the variety is resistant to lodging and shows high resilience against a range of diseases, significantly reducing the cost of fungicide applications. Its immunity to verticillium and fusarium wilt, as well as its resistance to tomato mosaic virus and cladosporiosis, allows for a stable maintenance schedule without the need for emergency inspections for infected bulbs.

Operational Performance

The medium height of the flower stem makes the variety easy to handle. Unlike taller competitors, 'Bonanza' does not require the installation of support nets or individual stakes. This streamlines mechanical inter-row cultivation and speeds up the harvesting process. The dense bud, featuring a distinctive blend of red and lilac hues, retains its marketability for a long time after cutting, making it a preferred choice for long-term storage and logistics.

• Phytosanitary Resilience: No need for aggressive chemical treatments against soil-borne pathogens.
• Blooming: The late flowering period allows you to fill a gap in the sales schedule after early varieties have faded.
• Agronomics: Standard forcing protocol with no specific requirements for mineral nutrition.

For a professional grower, 'Bonanza' is a predictable asset. The plant responds well to standard irrigation, and its resistance to pathogens significantly reduces losses during storage and forcing preparation.
