Winter variety of the All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Fruit Crops named after I. V. Michurin. Breeders: S. P. Yakovlev, A. P. Gribanovskiy, N. I. Savelyev, M. Y. Akimov. Obtained from crossing varieties Real Turin and Daughter of Dawn. Undergoing state testing.
Medium-sized tree, with a compact, narrow-pyramidal, sparse crown. Mixed fruiting type.
Medium-thick shoots, straight, brown, bare, with few buds. Medium-sized buds, pressed, round, smooth. Leaves of medium size, broad, oval-shaped, short-pointed, green, smooth, glossy, leaf blade curved upward, serration finely toothed, petiole of medium length and thickness, bare.
Fruits large, weighing 175-250 g, broad pear-shaped, smooth, well-formed. Skin medium, dry, with rust-colored netting. Color at harvest maturity: main — green, covering — red on the smaller part of the fruit; at consumer maturity: main — greenish, covering — pinkish on the smaller part of the fruit. Peduncle medium, oblique. Blemish very small or absent, rusting medium, calyx open, non-falling, plate medium, narrow. Heart medium, round, seed chambers closed, medium. Seeds medium, conical, brown.
Flesh creamy, medium density, tender, semi-oily, finely grained, juicy, with a small amount of granules, taste slightly sour-sweet with a weak aroma. Sensory evaluation 4.3 points.
Fruits contain dry soluble solids — 14.5%, sugars — 9.6%, titratable acids — 0.4%, ascorbic acid — 8.8 mg/100g, P-active substances — 86.0 mg/100g.
Begins fruiting in the 4th-5th year. Harvest maturity occurs in the second decade of September, consumer storage period in cooled storage conditions 150-160 days.
High-yielding variety. Characterized by relatively high winter hardiness. After artificial freezing in mid-winter at -38°C, tissue damage of one-year branches did not exceed 1.8 points. Not affected by scab, septoria, or entomosporiosis.
Advantages of the variety: compact crown, comprehensive disease resistance.
Disadvantages of the variety: under improper storage conditions, fruits may darken.
