Pajalade

The Royal Pride peach, developed by American breeder Floyd Zaiger, is a late-ripening variety with a harvesting period beginning in the second decade of August and continuing until the end of summer. The tree is medium-sized, reaching a height of about 3 meters, with a round and dense crown. Fruit production begins on the 3rd to 4th year after planting. It is recommended to grow this variety on sunny sites with fertile, well-drained soils and regular moderate watering to ensure rapid growth and high yields. Royal Pride peaches are large, weighing 170 to 220 grams, round in shape, and covered with a rich carmine or burgundy blush that becomes especially bright upon full ripening. The skin has slight fuzz, while the flesh is light-yellow, firm, juicy, and sweet with a barely perceptible acidity. Due to its high transportability and disease resistance, this variety is suitable for commercial cultivation and long-distance transport. It exhibits high cold hardiness and disease resistance comparable to the best analogs. Successful cultivation requires post-planting pruning with shoot lengths not exceeding 45 cm. Watering should be abundant, moistening the soil to a depth of 35–45 cm, especially during the first 30 days after planting, when watering should be done twice a week per seedling using one bucket of water. During dry periods, watering should be doubled and conducted 2–3 times per week. Mulching the root zone with a 7–10 cm layer and regular weeding are beneficial for moisture retention.
