Darnel VERSEKA

Resilient forage production with minimal maintenance

Developed by the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry, the 'Verseka' variety of ryegrass, distributed by UAB Dotnuva Baltic, is a premier choice for farmers seeking a low-input, high-reliability forage solution. Known for its exceptional plasticity, this variety performs consistently across diverse soil conditions, requiring minimal management to maintain healthy yields.

Practical applications in farming

The 'Verseka' variety is engineered for adaptability, making it an ideal candidate for various agricultural setups—from long-term pastures to intensive hay production systems. Its primary advantage lies in its ability to thrive without intensive fertilization, making it a cost-effective choice for modern agricultural operations.

• Pasture management: Excellent recovery rates after grazing and high leaf-to-stem ratios ensure that pastures remain productive throughout the growing season, even under heavy usage.
• Hay production: The variety produces a dense sward, which streamlines the mowing and drying process. It yields high-quality dry matter, essential for maintaining nutritional standards in livestock feed.
• Field stability: With strong winter hardiness and excellent resistance to lodging, 'Verseka' serves as a dependable backbone for forage mixtures in regions with fluctuating weather patterns.

By choosing 'Verseka' from UAB Dotnuva Baltic, managers benefit from a variety that balances low operational maintenance with consistent, season-after-season forage quality. It represents a pragmatic approach to land management, where durability and ease of cultivation are prioritized to ensure a reliable feed supply.
