Darnel Colomiytska

Technical Profile of the Variety

The «Kolomyiska» ryegrass variety is a specialized breeding product developed by the Kolomyia Research Station of the Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Agro-Industrial Production (NAAS). Unlike forage cultivars, this genetic material was developed specifically for decorative purposes, focusing on phenotypic consistency.

Morphological and Biological Properties

• Tillering: The variety exhibits high vegetative propagation energy, forming a dense turf essential for professional landscaping and lawn aesthetics.
• Regeneration: After mechanical stress (mowing), the variety shows rapid recovery rates, maintaining a uniform appearance without patchy growth.
• Adaptability: The key structural advantage is the variety's phenotypic plasticity. It is fully adapted to Ukrainian climatic conditions, showing resistance to temperature fluctuations and requiring minimal agronomic intervention.

Operational Efficiency

The primary value of «Kolomyiska» lies in its low-maintenance requirement. The genetic architecture of the plant allows for reduced frequency of irrigation and fertilization without sacrificing visual quality. This makes it an ideal choice for extensive landscape management, where aesthetic appeal must be achieved with limited operational resources.
