Darnel ELENA DS

Genetic Potential and Resistance of «Elena DS» Ryegrass

A breakthrough by Lithuanian researchers S. Nekrosas and LAMMC (Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry), marketed by UAB Dotnuva Baltic, offers a high-tech solution for professional landscaping. «Elena DS» is a cultivar engineered to maintain aesthetic brilliance with minimal resource input.

Technical Breakdown of Phytosanitary Protection

The core strength of this variety lies in its intrinsic genetic resilience against the most aggressive turf pathogens:

• Fusarium resistance: The cellular wall structure of «Elena DS» is optimized to inhibit colonization by Fusarium fungi. This is vital for maintaining uniform turf density under high-humidity conditions.
• Root rot immunity: The variety exhibits robust resistance to soil-borne pathogens that compromise the root system, ensuring long-term stand durability without the need for intensive fungicide applications.

Technically, the variety is optimized for a «low-maintenance» management regime. Its high threshold for soil pathogen adaptation allows for a reduction in chemical treatments, making «Elena DS» an ideal choice for park zones and private lawns where both visual appeal and environmental safety are paramount.

Variety stability is guaranteed through rigorous selection oversight by the originators at LAMMC. Each batch of seeds distributed by UAB Dotnuva Baltic adheres to strict quality benchmarks, ensuring predictable turf development even in challenging soil environments.
