WHITE – a perennial herbaceous plant up to 60 cm tall, characterized by bright green leaf coloration and white or pink flowers gathered into spikes. The rhizome is branched, from which numerous quadrangular stems emerge, covered with white-hairy hairs in the upper part. Leaves are small, elliptical, and entire-edged with short petioles; dark green on top and white-hairy underneath, giving the plant a distinctive appearance.
WHITE possesses a rich aroma due to essential oil, in which thymol and carvacrol prevail. This makes the plant valuable both as a culinary additive and as an ingredient in a dietary supplement (DS). The composition contains up to 1.2% essential oil, flavonoids, tannins, and ascorbic acid, giving the plant anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and tonic properties. Due to high cold resistance, the plant can remain evergreen even in winter months.
WHITE is excellent for greening garden borders, stone paths, gravel areas, and containers. It prefers sunny locations and light, well-drained soil. The plant is easily shaped: pruning old flowering stems early in spring stimulates the growth of new leaves and flowers, maintaining a compact shape. Flowering occurs from June to August, with white or pink flowers adding decorativeness to the summer period.
