WHITE BIRD – is a perennial herbaceous plant with a height ranging from 45 to 90 cm, distinguished by bright green oval leaves with prominent veins and a white-hairy underside. The leaves are small, elliptical, dark green on top and covered with white pubescence below, giving the plant a delicate appearance.
The plant has a branched rhizome from which numerous stems emerge, usually straight and slightly hairy. Branching is observed at the upper part of the stems, and leaves are arranged in dense clusters. Flowers of white or light pink shade are gathered in spike-like inflorescences, which appear in June–August.
WHITE BIRD is distinguished by its pleasant aroma, which makes it popular as a decorative plant and as a spice. In cooking, it is used as a seasoning for pizza, soups, meat dishes, fish, pasta, and sauces. Due to its frost hardiness and preference for sunny areas, the plant is easy to grow in open ground and is also suitable for container planting. It pairs beautifully with other herbs – rosemary, basil, marjoram, creating harmonious aromatic compositions.
