Oregano Feya

Cultivation and Performance Profile

Oregano 'Feya' is a versatile perennial designed for both decorative landscape use and high-yield spice production. With a plant height ranging between 40 and 70 cm, it allows for manageable planting density and efficient harvest operations. The plant shows high environmental adaptability, making it a reliable choice for commercial and garden-scale production.

Maintenance and Harvest Workflow

The standout feature for any operator is the intense, persistent aroma, which is the primary metric for quality in both culinary and herbal tea applications. The rose-lilac inflorescences serve as a visual indicator of peak aromatic oil concentration, signaling the optimal time for harvesting.

• Harvest Strategy: Optimal during the full bloom phase.
• Usage: Culinary seasoning and premium herbal tea blends.
• Maintenance: Low-maintenance requirements; regular pruning is recommended to maintain bush density and harvest quality.

Developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production (FSCVP) and Agrofirma Aelita, this variety benefits from a solid breeding lineage (Fedorova M.I., Pivovarov V.F.). The genotype is fully stabilized for local climates, minimizing operational risks associated with yield variability in open field conditions.
