Oregano AURORA BOREALIS

Spicy aroma in a challenging climate

The 'Severnoye Siyaniye' (Northern Lights) oregano variety is the result of intensive breeding by the Vavilov Institute (VIR) and Euro-Semena. Unlike southern varieties, this hybrid is specifically adapted to withstand temperature fluctuations and boasts high frost resistance, making it an excellent choice for northern or temperate regions.

Key advantages

• Intense Aromatics: The plant produces a strong, concentrated scent that retains its potency even after drying or cooking, outperforming many generic varieties.
• Structural Integrity: Growing 50-70 cm tall, the plant features sturdy stems that do not lodge, simplifying maintenance and harvesting.
• Multi-purpose Utility: With its striking pink-lilac flowers, it doubles as a decorative garden plant while providing high-quality raw material for culinary dishes, herbal teas, and traditional medicinal use.

Who should choose this variety

This variety is perfect for gardeners seeking a balance between aesthetics and functionality. If you rely on home-grown herbs for seasonings or therapeutic tea blends, the Northern Lights oregano offers the necessary reliability. For optimal results, ensure it is planted in a sunny location; sufficient sunlight is key to maximizing the essential oils that give this herb its signature spicy profile.
