Onion Mundo F1

Mundo F1 onion — a late hybrid of semi-sharp bulb onion, developed by the Dutch breeding company Syngenta Seeds. This variety is intended for cultivation in open ground and is characterized by high adaptability to various conditions, including dry and stressful periods. The plant features a strong, branched root system and large dark green leaves with a waxy coating, which enhances resistance to herbicide application and protects against adverse factors.

Mundo F1 bulbs have a round shape and yellow-brown or dark brown color with a glossy sheen. They are dense, with intact and firm outer scales, and inner scales are thick, elastic, and crunchy. The weight of one bulb is approximately 160-200 grams. The flavor is moderately sharp with a slight sweetness, making it appealing for fresh consumption and processing. Dry matter content reaches 14%, contributing to long-term storage.

The vegetation period of Mundo F1 ranges from 120 to 130 days, enabling high productivity — up to 90 tons per hectare. The hybrid is ideally suited for mechanized harvesting and transportation, and retains its market quality for 7-8 months. Seed production takes place in Switzerland, ensuring high-quality planting material and stable yields.
