Cucumber Lyrick

Crop reliability in high disease pressure environments

The «Lyric» cucumber hybrid, developed by Ukrainian breeder Iob Naan, is a strategic choice for growers prioritizing disease resistance and harvest consistency in open-field cultivation. Its primary value for commercial farming lies in its inherent genetic robustness against common pathogens that typically threaten crop yields in the mid-to-late season.

Key Agrotechnical Advantages

• Enhanced Disease Resistance: The hybrid shows significant resilience against downy mildew (peronospora) and bacteriosis. For producers, this translates into lower fungicide requirements and the ability to maintain plant health under conditions favorable to fungal outbreaks.
• Market-Ready Fruit Specs: Producing fruits 9–10 cm in length, Lyric meets the specific demands of supermarkets and processing facilities. Its medium-warty texture and rich green color ensure the produce maintains its aesthetic appeal throughout the supply chain.
• Operational Efficiency: The uniform fruit size simplifies harvesting and grading processes, helping farms optimize labor and reduce waste during packing.

In field applications, Lyric is chosen for its predictable growth pattern and high yield potential. By reducing the need for aggressive chemical protection, it serves as an excellent component in integrated pest management systems. Whether for fresh market sales or pickling, this hybrid delivers stable results, making it a reliable asset for modern agricultural operations seeking to balance quality with low maintenance.
