Cabbage WOLNUSHKA

Reliable Storage and Market Performance

The Volnushka white cabbage variety is a strategic choice for growers targeting the winter and spring fresh markets. With a 120-130 day maturity cycle, this mid-late variety offers predictable scheduling for harvest and logistics. Developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, it provides the genetic stability required for high-yield farming.

Operational Advantages for Producers

From a commercial perspective, Volnushka is designed for handling efficiency. Its flat-round head shape allows for dense, secure stacking in crates, which reduces the risk of physical damage during loading and transit. The 2.0-3.0 kg average weight is perfectly aligned with retail demand, offering a consumer-friendly size that moves quickly on the shelf.

• Storage Life: The variety exhibits excellent shelf-life potential, maintaining density and quality well into the spring if stored at recommended temperatures.
• Market Appeal: The blue-green foliage keeps a fresh, vivid appearance throughout the storage period, minimizing the amount of outer leaf trimming required before sale.
• Durability: The firmness of the head ensures it can withstand the rigors of mechanical sorting and long-distance transport without bruising or cracking.

Volnushka does not require specialized handling and integrates seamlessly into standard intensive agricultural cycles. It is a workhorse variety for farmers focused on maintaining consistent inventory throughout the off-season, ensuring that the harvested tonnage remains saleable and profitable from harvest through to final delivery.
