Onion Red Mech

Professional Grade: Red Onion for Long-term Storage

Red Mech from the Italian breeder Isi Sementi S.P.A. is a premium choice for producers focusing on both high marketability and extended storage capabilities. This salad-type onion is engineered for operations that prioritize consistency and efficiency in the field.

Field Performance and Economic Value

Designed for large-scale production, Red Mech offers a maturity window of 110–120 days. Its physical properties are specifically adapted for mechanized harvesting, which is a significant advantage for farms looking to reduce labor costs and ensure seamless logistics from field to warehouse.

• Productivity and Grading: The bulb reaches a uniform weight of 130–140 grams, maintaining a desirable round shape that fits perfectly into standard retail packaging requirements.
• Storage Longevity: One of its core strengths is an 8–9 month storage shelf life. This gives growers the commercial freedom to hold inventory and reach peak market pricing long after the harvest season.
• Visual Appeal: With a deep purple outer skin and vibrant red interior, it meets the aesthetic standards expected by high-end consumers and wholesalers.

By choosing Red Mech, growers gain a reliable tool that withstands the rigors of mechanical handling and long-distance transport. It is a pragmatic solution for businesses that need to maintain consistent supply chain flow without compromising the quality of the final product.
