Cucumber KALIPSO F1

Stable Yield in Open Field Conditions

The 'CALYPSO F1' cucumber from the German breeding company Agri-Saaten is a reliable choice for growers who prioritize consistency in open-field farming. With standard maintenance, the plant enters its active fruiting phase within 50–55 days, allowing for precise harvesting and sales planning.

Agronomic Performance and Plant Protection

Managing this hybrid is straightforward due to its high resistance to common cucumber diseases. In field conditions, 'CALYPSO F1' shows excellent resistance to downy mildew, which is often the primary challenge in late summer. Additionally, the Agri-Saaten genetics effectively handle pressure from:

• Powdery mildew;
• Angular leaf spot;
• Brown spot;
• Mycosphaerella leaf spot.

This natural 'armor' reduces the number of required fungicide treatments, which directly impacts production costs and improves the overall quality of the harvest.

Marketability and Harvest

The fruits have a classic shape with a length-to-diameter ratio of 3.0:1.0. This is an ideal format for both pickling and the fresh market. The dark green color is persistent, and the fruits do not yellow easily if harvesting is delayed. Their heavily warted surface gives them a premium 'farm-fresh' appearance highly valued by customers. Harvesting is convenient as well: the fruits detach easily from the stem, maintaining their integrity during transport.
