It is distinguished by large bulbs of a regular spherical shape with a very thin neck and a beautiful golden-yellow outer skin. The inner part of the bulb is pure white, firm and juicy, possessing an excellent sweet taste. This variety is a superb French type of the famous Density variety and is suitable for growing in a two-year culture from sets.
Golden Batam is distinguished by high yields, reaching 165 centners per hectare, and good winter hardiness. The onion has tight adhesion of dry wrapper scales, which have a yellow color, while juicy scales are white with a greenish tint. Ripeness before harvest is 98%, which ensures a stable and quality harvest. Onion harvesting begins in August, and thanks to its properties, the bulbs store well throughout the winter, until May, preserving freshness and taste qualities.
