Description Octant
OCTANT is a medium-maturity hybrid of onion, intended for growing bulbs in a one-year culture from seeds. The bulbs have a round shape and a mass ranging from 90 to 110 grams. The dry scales are brown, while the juicy ones are white, with the number of dry scales being 4-5. The onion neck is of medium thickness and can be one- or two-chambered. The onion taste is semi-sharp, making it versatile for various culinary purposes.

The hybrid has a high yield potential, achieving a commercial yield within the range of 281-371 centners per hectare, which is 15-50 centners higher than standard varieties Talon F1 and Manas F1. The maximum registered yield was 1019 centners per hectare in the Volgograd region. Bulb maturity before harvest reaches 90%, and after curing it reaches 97%, indicating high stability and product quality.

OCTANT is characterized by good resistance to herbicide treatments and is suitable for mechanized harvesting, which facilitates agricultural activities. The hybrid is designed for long-term storage up to 7-8 months, which allows maintaining the commercial appearance and taste qualities for a long period. Thanks to these characteristics, OCTANT is a profitable choice for commercial cultivation and sales.
