Nafanya

Shallot of the Nafanya variety is a mid-season variety bred by clonal selection from a polycross population. This variety is characterized by round, dense bulbs weighing about 32 grams with dark-red dry scales and dark-purple juicy layers. Bulbs form in a cluster of 5-8 pieces, and the neck is thin. The taste of the onion is semi-sharp, which makes it universal for use both as a bulb onion and for producing green onions. The average maturation period is about 53 days from mass germination to leaf lodging, and the yield reaches 1.2 kg of bulb onions and 3.1 kg of green leaves per square meter.

The Nafanya variety is intended for cultivation in personal subsidiary holdings and is characterized by good adaptation to growing conditions. Reproduction occurs vegetatively, which allows preserving variety qualities. Thanks to the dense structure of the bulbs and their color, the onion is well stored and retains its taste qualities for a long time.
