MAAS 01 onion is a high-quality variety developed by German breeding, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic tunnels. It features round or flat bulb shapes with a bright bronze or yellow-brown hue on the upper scales, with fruit mass ranging from 80 to 150 grams, sometimes reaching 250 grams. The onion flesh is snow-white, tender, semi-sharp, and crunchy, without bitterness, providing excellent taste qualities and making it versatile for fresh consumption, processing, canning, and cooking various dishes. The dry matter content is about 9.1%, allowing the onion to be used for drying and freezing.
The MAAS 01 variety is characterized by a powerful root system and high resistance to diseases such as peronosporosis, root rot, and fusarium. It has good storability and adapts to various weather conditions, including a continental climate with a moisture deficit. The onion is heat-resistant and suitable for mechanical harvesting, which facilitates its cultivation and harvest collection. The maturity period averages 110-115 days, while with the use of drip irrigation, yield can reach 95 tons per hectare and more.
The manufacturer pays special attention to the quality of planting material: onion sets undergo disinfection and chemical treatment to protect against fungal infections, as well as drying using special equipment to ensure optimal dryness. It is recommended to sow seeds with a rate of 1 million per hectare, observe a 1x10 cm scheme during planting, and a depth of 3 cm; seed consumption is 4-8 grams per square meter. Thanks to its characteristics, the MAAS 01 variety is ideal for cultivation both by seedling-free and seedling methods, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield suitable for long-term storage and various uses.
