Onion Golubka

Stable Chive Yields with the Golubka Variety

Working with seeds from NUBiP of Ukraine gives you the predictability that every grower needs. The "Golubka" variety is a long-standing perennial that lives up to its reputation for seed vigor and rapid regrowth. For those specializing in early greens, this variety is a reliable asset: as soon as the snow melts, "Golubka" enters its active growth phase, providing an early harvest of high-quality chives.

Key Operational Advantages

• Regeneration Speed: The leaves recover quickly after cutting. With proper irrigation, you can expect 3 to 4 full harvest cycles per season, making it an efficient crop for intensive management.
• Winter Hardiness: Over years of observation, the variety has demonstrated excellent resistance to cold temperatures. Plant loss after winter is minimal, saving you the time and resources typically spent on reseeding.
• Marketable Quality: The leaves maintain a delicate texture and a pleasant, mild flavor for a long period, which makes them highly valued by consumers.

Growing Tips for Professionals

When managing "Golubka" on a larger scale, it is crucial to remember that this is a perennial crop. Proper site preparation is essential: choose a field with good drainage, as the plant dislikes waterlogging but responds exceptionally well to moderate, regular irrigation. In the first year, plants invest heavily in root system development, so yields may be moderate. From the second year onwards, "Golubka" forms dense clumps that require minimal maintenance, mostly focusing on weed control and soil aeration.

The variety's natural disease resistance is high, allowing for a reduction in chemical treatments. For an agricultural operator, this translates into lower production costs and a cleaner end product. "Golubka" is a choice for those who value stability, proven genetics, and professional selection from Ukraine's leading agricultural research center.
