Cabbage Moby Dick F1

Genetic Resistance and Field Performance

Moby Dick F1, developed by Clause, is a specialized hybrid engineered for high-intensity vegetable production. Its primary technical advantage is its robust genetic resistance to soil-borne pathogens, specifically Verticillium and Fusarium wilt. This resistance is crucial for maintaining a consistent plant stand, preventing crop loss in fields with history of fungal pressure.

Agronomic Specs and Density

With a maturity period of 60–70 days, this hybrid fits perfectly into early-season production cycles. At a recommended planting density of 30,000 to 35,000 plants per hectare, the hybrid produces compact, uniform heads weighing between 0.2 and 0.5 kg. This specific head size is highly desirable in modern retail, catering to consumers seeking smaller, convenient portions.

Market Versatility

The Moby Dick F1 hybrid offers significant flexibility for growers. It is well-suited for both the fresh produce market and industrial processing. The internal structure and leaf density ensure durability during transportation, maintaining marketable quality upon arrival. Utilizing French breeding expertise, Clause has ensured that the plant efficiently converts inputs into high-quality output, delivering reliable harvest windows that allow for precise market planning.
