Fist Bunching Onion: A Professional's Choice for High Yields

When producing bunching onions at scale, the reliability of your seed material is the foundation of your profit. The 'Fist' hybrid by Takii Europe B.V. has proven itself as a dependable asset for growers who prioritize consistency, disease resistance, and market-ready quality.

Field Performance and Management

The standout feature of 'Fist' is its robust resistance to downy mildew. In commercial farming, where a single outbreak can devastate an entire field, this level of genetic protection is invaluable. For the grower, this translates into fewer fungicide applications, lower input costs, and significantly less operational stress during the growing season.

Regarding practical field operations and harvest:

• Harvesting Efficiency: The plant features an upright leaf habit, which makes manual harvesting faster and cleaner, significantly reducing the amount of waste during grading.
• Marketability: The dark green color and firm texture of the foliage are maintained even after transport, ensuring the product looks fresh upon arrival at retail outlets.
• Yield Potential: Achieving over 100 tons per hectare is a realistic goal with 'Fist' when optimal irrigation and nutrient programs are followed.

The Grower's Perspective

What sets 'Fist' apart in the field is its predictable growth cycle of 90–100 days. It is a highly responsive variety, meaning it rewards intensive management, yet it remains resilient enough to handle minor fluctuations in fertilizer schedules. This makes it a perfect "workhorse" for the salad market, where visual appeal and the tenderness of the leaves are paramount. Because the leaves do not become fibrous prematurely, growers have a wider harvesting window, allowing for more flexible planning in the supply chain.

If you are looking for a reliable, high-performing bunching onion that balances disease resistance with high-density production, 'Fist' by Takii Europe B.V. is a proven choice for modern vegetable farming.
