Oat ALTESSE

French breeding for stable yields

The «Altesse» oats from Maisadour Semences are the result of years of French research focused on optimizing the physical and chemical properties of grain in temperate climates. The key feature of this hybrid is the gray color of the grain, which is not merely a visual characteristic but a marker of high husk density and a specific endosperm composition.

Technological potential

• Morphogenesis: Maisadour genetics ensure excellent lodging resistance, which is critical for uniform ripening and streamlined harvesting operations.
• Grain structure: The gray husk color indicates increased fiber content and a balanced amino acid profile, making «Altesse» highly suitable for both livestock feed and food processing.
• Adaptability: French genetics provide a high threshold of tolerance to regional pathogens, effectively reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications.

Practical application of «Altesse» demonstrates a predictable response to nitrogen fertilization during the tillering stage, allowing agronomists to manage yield potential precisely. The high germination energy significantly mitigates the risks of thin stands during adverse weather conditions at the time of sowing.
